Time for a Ban: River Cree Casino Works on Designated Smoking Area

Maintaining casino venues as safe for individuals as possible and guaranteeing a good time is essential for all provinces. Casino operators have been working towards eliminating smoke in enclosed spaces and River Cree Resort and Casino announced it is joining the smoke-free movement. Its gaming floor and family-friendly areas such as the dining locations on site will become a smoke-free space at the beginning of June.

Maintaining clean air is the foundation of the Clean Air Act amending the Canadian Environmental Protection Act from 1999 among others. It is striving to introduce a positive change across the provinces ever since 2006 and for the most part, it is able to make an actual change. Canadians’ health is of utmost importance and this goal is more achievable thanks to the special act prohibiting smoking in indoor public spaces.

New Smoking Lounge Coming Soon

In its essence, this means that individuals are banned from smoking in various public locations to the likes of restaurants, casino venues, and bars. This rule is applicable in every province and territory except Alberta. This is a decision that leaves it up to every local business to decide whether it would welcome tobacco smoke or not.

This gives both freedom and the possibility of inhaling second-hand smoke at a public space. Such is the case at the River Cree Resort and Casino near Edmonton. At the moment the gaming venue allows tobacco smoking on site and players have the freedom to remain seated at their slot machines or gaming tables without the need to go outside for a cigarette.

Changes are upon local players that will have to get used to smoking in a special area, as the casino management recently announced it is going to establish a tobacco smoking ban across the casino floor of the renowned location. In addition to that, the restaurant area of the casino resort is also going to become a smoke-free zone at the beginning of June.

River Cree Casino Returns Bigger and Better

Only several days remain until the casino resort transforms into a much more welcoming area of the provincial gambling scene. With the approaching warmer months of the year, casino players would not be excluded from the favorable conditions inside the casino venue and the restaurant. In the foreseeable future, all smokers will have the opportunity to enjoy a brand new area.

It is going to be a specifically designed area for those enjoying tobacco smoke and preferring to spend their time in a luxurious lounge. The special area will be called Embers and individuals will have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a powerful ventilation system designed to meet the high expectations of passionate smokers. In addition to that, the area is also going to feature a special ONYX Lounge offering more to its current casino patrons and future enthusiasts.

At the moment the casino venue is undergoing the extensive renovation that mandates its temporary closure. It has been confirmed by the casino venue management that the gaming floor is going to return bigger and better, with more slot machines available on site, as well as new dice tables and a VIP area with slot machines featuring higher limits.
